In Valorant's official trailer for the game's newest map Abyss, Riot Games included a small teaser of the game's upcoming new agent. While the fans got excited about the possibility of a new playable character being released sooner rather than later, the truth is that not much was known about the agent at the time. Therefore, it didn't take long for the hype to fade away.
Fortunately, with the Valorant Champions 2024 just around the corner, the first leaks regarding this new character are finally appearing on social media.
The popular source for Valorant news and leaks @VALORANTLeaksEN, claimed that Valorant's new agent will be revealed on August 23, the final day of the Champions 2024.
While not much is known about Valorant's upcoming agent, which we can refer to as Agent 26 for now, the cosmetics released during the current Battle Pass make us think that the agent's abilities will have something to do with time.
The account also mentions that Agent 26 will be an Initiator. In Valorant, an Initiator usually focuses on initiating attacks on site while pushing the enemies out of their preferred location. An example of a Valorant Initiator is Sova, whose arrows are used to know the location of the enemies hidden nearby.
It's worth mentioning that the last Initiator released into the game was Gekko, who was added on March 7, 2023, during Episode 6 Act 2. This means that the seventh Initiator might arrive a year and a half later.
