Soniqs part ways with Merc

The American won't be competing in the second split of the season.

Soniqs have decided to part ways with Bryan "Merc" Wrzek, according to the player's announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The Six Invitational 2022 champion joined Soniqs in March 2022 to replace Pablo "Gryxr" Rebeil. Unfortunately for him and his teammates, the blue roster finished in eighth place at the North America League 2024 Stage 1.

Eventually, the team missed out on the BLAST R6 Major Manchester after losing to Spacestation Gaming in the region's Last Chance Qualifier grand final. It was the first time that Soniqs missed out on a Six Major since failing to qualify for the Six Charlotte Major.

Unfortunately for the Americans, the team also missed out on the Esports World Cup after losing to Spacestation Gaming in the match to decide the third-placed roster in North America's Closed Qualifier.

According to Merc's post on X, he has been "replaced by someone else who has unexpectedly become a free agent who the team thought would be a better fit."

The former TSM player also revealed information about his most immediate future in the competitive scene. "With that being said I think it’s time I take a break from competitive siege and focus on my future and what it holds."
