SCARZ have qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal after winning the Japan League 2024 Stage 2 grand finals. This is the team's fourth consecutive championship as they haven't failed to get the region's first seed since April 2023.

Despite the team's overall dominance in the region, today's match was anything but one-sided. After KINOTROPE gaming won on Kafe Dostoyevsky in a game that reached maximum overtime, the reigning champions were put between a rock and a hard place.

Eventually, SCARZ stopped their opponents from getting a second map after wins on Nighthaven Labs and Skyscraper. Both maps followed a similar script, with KINOTROPE gaming having a 4-2 lead before swapping sides. However, the Japanese roster didn't perform well on attack as they only won one of their nine attacks in the final two maps of the series.

After today's victory, SCARZ have clinched a spot to compete in Montreal's Swiss Stage. By doing so, the Japanese roster have climbed to ninth place on the Global Standings with 320 SI Points.

Meanwhile, KINOTROPE gaming's players still have a shot at qualifying for Montreal as they will compete in Japan's Last Chance Qualifiers.
