SANDBOX Gaming have booked their place at the upcoming Six Jönköping Major after they beat CAG in overtime and FAV gaming beat REJECT 8-7. They follow CAG themselves, who qualified after REJECT failed to secure three points against FAV.
As a result, CAG have a total of 15 points and SANDBOX have 14 points. With REJECT at 10 points and only able to climb as high as 13 points on the final play day next week, both CAG and SANDBOX cannot be dislodged from the top two places.
This is the second international event in a row for SANDBOX following the Six Berlin Major and their eighth overall, including one Pro League Finals and one DreamHack Minor.
Prior to today's APAC North play day, SANDBOX had two players in the top-five in multiple categories. Lee "GoodBoy" Ji-heon had been third-best in terms of SiegeGG Rating, K-D, and had been fifth-best in terms of KOST.
His teammate, Han "Static" Chan-yong, was fifth-best by Rating and K-D, while had the fourth-best KOST. Song "SyAIL" Dong-seon had also been impactful in entry engagements and was fourth-best in the league there.
SANDBOX will be hoping to perform better than they did last time out, when they were third in their group at the Berlin Major. They had shared a group with quarter-finalists G2 Esports and grand-finalists FaZe Clan, however, and were fresh off a major roster reorganization.
