In March 2024, Rainbow Six Mobile's official X account revealed that the team would "be pausing new content for the time being to let us focus on enhancing key elements of the game." In other words, Rainbow Six Mobile wouldn't be available for players until further notice.
However, seven months later, Rainbow Six Mobile is back. The team's update was made in Rainbow Six Mobile's subreddit and offered fans a brief look at what's coming to the game in the upcoming months.
First of all, fans must understand that Rainbow Six Mobile was never fully released. Instead, the game reached the Soft Launch stage as it was only available in a handful of selected countries.
With Rainbow Six Mobile making a comeback, Ubisoft has announced that the Soft Launch stage will be resumed. "Phase 1 will also officially resume our Soft Launch and kick off the rollout of new live content to get feedback from the community."
To continue working on Rainbow Six Mobile and to reach a stage where the game is ready to be released worldwide, Ubisoft has divided the future of the game into three phases according to the following criteria, as stated in Ubisoft's subreddit post.
With the arrival of several new impactful features and significant improvements, we’ve implemented three phases of testing. Each phase is designed to assess and validate the changes, and we will not progress to the next phase before the test is considered successful and our expectations are met. This is especially important for us to not only bring you an amazing tactical experience but to ensure smooth gameplay as well.
These three phases will be called Technical Test, Engagement Test, and Transitioning to Global Launch.
In the first phase, Ubisoft will focus on technically testing all of the new features included in Rainbow Six Mobile. Additionally, Ubisoft will also monitor the reactivity of the team "to determine how quickly and effectively we can not only respond to issues as they arise but also monitor these issues."
After the Technical Test is completed, Ubisoft will test the enjoyability of the new features.
"It’s important to us that we evaluate how well we keep players engaged and returning. This is invaluable to ensure we have a large pool of players, offering optimal matchmaking, fewer bots and more fun!"
Last but not least, phase three will see Ubisoft making the necessary adjustments "before transitioning to WWL." Once the game is ready, Ubisoft will send the final game build to Apple and Google.
Throughout this week, Ubisoft will release more information about Phase 1. For more information about Rainbow Six Mobile, don't forget to bookmark the site and follow us through our social media pages.
