The big event of Overwatch 2 Season 12 will be a collaboration with one of the biggest games from Blizzard: WoW or World of Warcraft. Even though both games have crossed over before, this will be a full event dedicated to it.
With the trailer coming out soon, here is everything we know about the content before its release.
Release date prediction
Since the trailer is dropping on September 13, we expect the event to start on Tuesday, September 17 at the earliest.
Regardless of the date, the new content will be live at 11:00 am PT (7:00 pm BST), which is the usual time when updates, shop resets, and new content drops in the game.
We will update this section once the official dates are revealed to add all the correct information.

What skins and other content can we expect?
The Season 12 trailer gives us a glimpse at Reinhardt's hammer with a skin that makes it look like the Frostmourne, the longsword of the Lich King.
It is unclear if this is just a weapon skin or a full skin for the tank hero. Regardless, we expect the event to bring several skins to make some of the heroes look like characters from World of Warcraft similar to what happened with the Diablo 4 crossover in Season 7.
One of these skins was revealed at Gamescom 2024, and it will make Widowmaker look like the character Sylvana from WoW as you can see below:
The game already has several WoW-themed skins, so we expect most of those to make a comeback in the shop. Two of them, Illidan Genji and Tyrande Symmetra, were exclusive skins for those who attended BlizzCon 2019. We'll have to wait and see if Blizzard makes these available to unlock too.
We will update this article whenever new information about the crossover event comes out.
In the meantime, you can read about the other content coming throughout the season in this article and you can also check out our tier list to see which heroes are performing better in the current meta.
