A new crossover with another Blizzard game is coming

Less than a week away, Blizzard has finally premiered the Overwatch 2 Season 12 launch trailer. This not only gives us a look at some expected additions like the game mode Clash or the new hero Juno but also teases a few surprises coming later in the season.

First off, this season's battle pass will have an Egyptian theme, offering skins based on that. Anubis Reaper will be the mythic skin for this season, allowing the hero to look like the Egyptian god.

Clash is finally getting added permanently to the rotation with two maps, Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis.

The season will also bring a mid-year rank reset for the Competitive playlist. This means all players will have to play their placement matches again to receive a rank.

One of the big surprises comes at the end of the trailer, where we can see a glimpse of Reinhardt's weapon with a skin that resembles the Lich King's Frostmourne from World of Warcraft.

With The War Within expansion dropping soon in the popular Blizzard title, the collaboration event could take place close to the season's start. Here is the Season 12 trailer in case you haven't seen it:

We believe this collab will follow a similar path to the Diablo 4 crossover seen in Season 7, with several heroes receiving skins based on characters from WoW.
