The mid-season update for Overwatch 2 Season 12 is dropping soon along with a new set of patch notes. However, developers have revealed a few of the changes, including nerfs to some of the heroes that are dominating the current meta.
Here is everything we know about the upcoming update as we wait for its arrival so you can stay informed.
Release date
The Overwatch 2 Season 12 mid-season update will arrive on Tuesday, September 17 at 11:00 pm PT (7:00 pm BST), exactly four weeks after the start of the season.
Patch notes
The update's complete patch notes will be posted on the same day it arrives. The gameplay director, Alec Dawson, has already teased some of the changes through the most recent Director's Take article.
The patch will bring a few small tweaks to the newest game mode Clash, as they continue their objectives to maintain the mode fair, incentivize the attacking of points A and E, and keep it clear and understandable.
In terms of hero updates, Dawson revealed that the team is looking at tackling tank survivability, trying to pull back slightly the buffs implemented with the Season 11 mid-season patch.
D.Va and Sombra were also mentioned, so nerfs to both characters are expected to arrive with this version. This will probably be a welcomed change as those two characters have been a menace through most ranks in the first half of the season.
Once the complete patch notes are out, we will update this article to add all the details so you can read about them.
