New Overwatch 2 trailer reveals Venture's abilities and playtest weekend

You'll have a weekend to test the new hero

New Overwatch 2 trailer shows us Venture's abilities and a playtest is happening soon

Venture is the new hero coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 10, and now Blizzard is set to fine-tune her, publishing a new gameplay trailer to showcase her abilities before a playtest weekend. Even though a short clip was shown during the game's panel at BlizzCon 2023, this new trailer gives us a better look at the hero's kit.

As previously revealed, this will be the 40th playable character in the game and belongs to the damage/DPS category.

The hero will have a unique way of traversing the maps. Thanks to their excavator, they can go underground and become invulnerable. However, they won't be able to do any damage while doing so.

Here is the gameplay trailer where we can see all of their abilities in action:

Venture will have a dash ability that will be perfect not only to target enemies flying through the air like Pharah but also to avoid any danger after emerging from the underground.

The trailer ends by showing us what appears to be a new map coming to the game, with many believing it's a new version of the Temple of Anubis map from the first game.

Along with the trailer, Blizzard also shared the following graphic that lists all of the hero's abilities and describes how each one works:

Just like what happened with Mauga in Season 7, a short playtest will take place from March 28 through March 31. During this time, users will be able to try out the new hero only in public matches. The hero will be available at 11 am PST / 6 pm GMT and remain in the game for 72 hours.

Keep in mind that all the progress made during this playtest won't be tracked, and only their default skin will be available.

After that, players will have to wait until Season 10 starts to be able to play with them again. The good news is that you won't have to do much to start playing with them since new heroes will be free and unlocked instantly for everyone starting next season.
