Even though the current season started not long ago, you might already wonder what additions are being kept until Season 5 Reloaded for MW3 and Warzone.
The mid-season update always brings more content to keep players busy until the next season, or in this case, until the spotlight starts spinning towards Black Ops 6.
Release date
A release date for Season 5 Reloaded of MW3 and Warzone hasn't been announced. Based on previous seasons, we believe the mid-season update is set to come out on Wednesday, August 21 at 9:00 am PT (5:00 pm BST).
Preload for PC users usually starts one or two days before release through the Battle.net app. On the other hand, preload for PlayStation players becomes available a few hours before.
Weapons
Two new weapons are being added to the game and here are all the relevant details about each one:
- Spear (Melee): Unlockable through a special battle pass sector.
- Torque (Launcher, bow): Unlockable through a weekly challenge.
Maps
Only one new map has been announced for this mid-season refresh and it's a new version of Stash House called Ink House. As the name indicates, this variant will feature the same graphics style seen in maps that arrived at the beginning of the season like Yard, Celship, and Toonoxide.
Game modes
Here is a list of all the new game modes coming to the multiplayer side of the game:
- Fishfection: A variant of Infected where survivors are only equipped with the Compound Bow and a Spear. Infected players have a Fish operator.
- Paintball: This mode is played predominantly on small maps and with base game modes like Kill Confirmed or Capture the Flag. Player movement is increased and all bullet impacts are replaced with paint splatters
- Defuse or Destroy: A variant of Search and Destroy where the bomb is planted on one of the sites at the beginning of each round.
On the other hand, only one new game mode has been announced for Warzone in the second half of the season. This mode is called Supreme Resurgence and it's a variant of normal Resurgence where the ground loot is better than usual and will be inspired by the current meta.
Zombies
The Zombies storyline will conclude with one final mission that will arrive along with the mid-season update. Players will get the chance to play in a new Dark Aether rift with new challenges and permanent unlocks as rewards.
To help players, the update is also bringing the following schematics:
- Disciple Bottle: Spawn a friendly Disciple to wreak havoc against your foes.
- Grenade Bandolier: Replenish your Lethal and Tactical Equipment over time, allowing you to regularly bombard enemies.
- Stash Increase: Increase your stash size to 30.
