Maps

These are all the details about the maps coming to the multiplayer side and Warzone, since the battle royale is getting some new variations.

MW3

As always, the season will bring several new maps to the multiplayer side of Modern Warfare 3. For this season, players will only receive one brand-new map and seven variations of already established maps.

The brand-new map is called "Drive Thru" and takes place around an abandoned diner at night.

As for the variations, one of them is a new version of Meat, the small map introduced back in Season 1, and Shipment is getting five new variations.

Warzone

Two map variants are coming to Warzone and both will go nicely with the season's theme. The first one is called Hellspawn and this will be a Rebirth Island variant where the water has turned red and the buildings are covered with blood, tentacles, and rust.

Players will be able to play the game modes Purgatory and Zombie Royale in this new variant.

The other variant is called Vondel Night, featuring a night-time version of the city. Unlike Hellspawn, only the Zombie Royale mode will be available in this version.

Modes

Here are all the game modes and mode variations coming to MW3's multiplayer side:

  • Hordepoint: A variation for Hardpoint where you have to fight both the enemy team and a horde of Zombies.
  • Arcade: In this mode, operators will receive special abilities like increased jump height or the power of grand slam into opponents. Some weapons will also offer special abilities like a Sledgehammer with increased knockback effect or the explosive MORS sniper rifle.
  • Mutation: Humans go against a team of mutants in traditional moshpit game modes. While humans get a few buffs like increased ammo reserve, mutants won't have traditional loadouts and will have to pick one of the unique classes. These are all the classes along with a short description of each one:
    • Mutated Leaper: Leap at your enemies and become enraged, gaining faster movement speed and melee damage along with the ability to detect enemies around corners. Toss a Snapshot Grenade to reveal foes to your team.
    • Radioactive Beast: Charge your enemies as a half dog, half demon. Howl to improve the health and movement speed of your allies and use your enhanced senses to reveal nearby enemies on the minimap.
    • Contaminated Sludger: The Sludger obscures sightlines with a Smoke Grenade and can attack enemies with a close-ranged acid blast that pools on the ground and slows its victims. Explode in a large radius of mutant sludge, taking your foes down with you.
    • Camouflaged Sneaker: Become partially invisible and stun and slow enemies with a lethal energy projectile. When it’s time to break stealth and attack, scramble at your enemies with an electrified leap.
  • Infected: The classic Infected game mode is back where one player at random is selected at the beginning of the match to infect the others and turn them into zombies.

On the other hand, here are all the new game modes coming to Warzone:

  • Purgatory: Players receive infinite respawns in this game mode that takes place only in the Hellspawn variation of Rebirth Island. The mode features several new mechanics and objectives for teams to complete and achieve win status. From scare packages with some surprises inside to flying shipment containers, portals, and crazy power-ups.
  • Zombie Royale: The classic Zombie Royale returns and the mode can be played on both Vondel Night and Hellspawn.
