Marvel Rivals: Everything you need to know about the super hero shooter

Marvel Rivals is an upcoming hero shooter from NetEase Games, similar in mechanics to Overwatch but having a different art style, camera view, and more.

After a few tests, the game's release date has been announced and we have gathered all the important details so you can prepare accordingly for its launch.

Release date

Marvel Rivals is scheduled to be released on Friday, December 6, 2024. The game will be available for current generation consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

A PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version is out of the cards since it hasn't been mentioned in any announcements.

Trailers

Here is the reveal trailer, which gives us a first look at the gameplay, the abilities of the different heroes, and the team-up mechanic:

A second trailer was released during a State of Play presentation to announce the console version and new characters like Venom:

The next trailer was presented during Gamescom 2024's Opening Night Live, revealing not only the release date but also the addition of Captain America and the Winter Soldier to the roster:

The game will feature a varied roster of heroes from the different group of Marvel characters, like the X-Men, the Avengers, and even The Guardians of the Galaxy. Here are all the heroes confirmed so far:

Maps

Here are all the maps confirmed so far to be in the game:

  • Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya
  • Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands
  • Yggsgard: Royal Palace
  • Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path

As you can see, the maps take place in two locations: Tokyo 2099 and Yggsgard. The first one is the home of Peni Parker, one of the Spider-Man variants available in the roster, while the second one refers to Asgard, the home of characters like Thor, Loki, and Hela.
