How to find golf carts in Sons of the Forest

Oops, look out.

Golf Cart in Sons of the Forest

When it comes to traversal in Sons of the Forest, you have a few different options to get around the map. The first and easiest option you can access is the hang glider; however, that's a fairly primitive form of traversal. If you want to step up your movement and enter the technological age, then you have to go for the golf cart in Sons of the Forest.

While it might seem strange that a golf cart is randomly found on a mutant-infested island, there are several of the vehicles to find across the map. The number of golf cart spawns was increased following the recent 1.0 update in Sons of the Forest, giving you more chances to successfully drive all over the island.

The guide below explains where to find golf carts and how to use them in Sons of the Forest.

Golf cart locations in Sons of the Forest

Fortunately, the 1.0 release of Sons of the Forest has made finding and driving a Golf Cart extremely simple. The vehicle has several spawns, but most of them lie in the northeastern corner of the map.

In this area of the island, a large portion of land doesn’t feature any caves or visible points of interest. However, there are a few lakes and upwards of six golf cart spawn locations. The middle of this section of the map holds the majority of these spawns. As you can see in the map screenshot below, we found a golf cart sitting in the middle of an open field in the area.

If you go here, you’ll also see a few other blue steering wheel icons appear on your map. These indicate other golf cart spawns, and you can travel to the icons to find more vehicles. However, for most players, a single golf cart serves most needs.

Using golf carts in Sons of the Forest

Once you find a golf cart, enter it by pressing the interact button (E). If you want to hop out, press 'G'.

Inside the cart, you’ll see a screen with your map and a bar with green squares. The bar represents the cart’s current battery level, and as you continue to drive it, the green squares will diminish and turn yellow/red. When the cart is completely drained of its battery, the bar will have nothing on it.

Luckily, all golf carts in Sons of the Forest run on solar power, meaning they have a full charge throughout the day. However, when driving at night, you’ll have to monitor the battery life to ensure you don’t run out of juice. The best way to keep your golf cart charged is to park it somewhere you know will get sunlight.

Although, you can also find golf cart batteries across the island. These are used to swap out an existing golf cart battery with a new one that might have a fuller charge. Golf cart batteries aren’t too plentiful in Sons of the Forest, but you can primarily find them in bunkers. More specifically, there’s a bunker near the majority of golf cart spawns on the northeastern side of the map with a golf cart battery in it.

You can also take batteries from other golf carts and place them in your inventory. You can only carry a max of three batteries, though, so don’t try to take more than you carry.

That’s everything you need to know about finding and using golf carts in Sons of the Forest. If you want to bypass the search for a golf cart, you can always use console commands to spawn one right before you.
