Back-to-back quarter-finals have been secured by G2 Esports.

G2 Esports' taking SANDBOX Gaming to overtime means that the mixed-European team have qualified for the playoffs.

G2 previously beat SBXG (7-3) and Soniqs twice (8-6, 7-4) while losing to FaZe (3-7) to secure 11 points. As SANDBOX can hit no more than seven, they have guaranteed themselves a top-two finish in Group B.

This will therefore be G2 Esports' second quarter-final appearance in a row after they were knocked out of the Charlotte Major by Team Liquid. This result also effectively ends the excitement in Group B despite two games remaining, as it sends SANDBOX out in the bottom half of the table.

G2 are the first European team to make it into the top eight, joining XSET, FaZe Clan, w7m Esports, Elevate, and FURIA Esports. The final two teams will be either Rogue or NiP in Group A, and ether Wolves, Oxygen, or Gaimin in Group C.

FaZe can still lock in first seed in Group B at 7:10 PM CET (UTC+2) against Soniqs in what will be Seth "supr" Hoffman's last ever professional game as a player. Should supr go out with a win, then FaZe vs G2 at 8:40 will decide this spot.
