Fortnite might be ending its Galactic Battle season soon, but the game is entering a new beginning on Switch 2. Now that the shooter is on more powerful hardware, it will be able to perform just as well on Nintendo’s hybrid console as it does on PS5 and Xbox Series. The days of this game performing badly on Switch are seemingly over.
To celebrate the occasion, Epic Games is giving Switch 2 fans an exclusive emote they can use. Luckily, it won’t take much effort to get this, and players have a long time before this reward expires. It’s a great way to celebrate this new beginning for Nintendo and the free-to-play shooter.
How to get the Wishing Star emote in Fortnite?
Players just have to log into the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game to receive the Wishing Star emote. They will have until March 31, 2026, to redeem this emote.

Although it's tied to the new console's launch, this is not a Nintendo-themed one at all. Based on the image above, it’s just players conjuring up a wishing star from out of nowhere. Still, it’s a visually appealing emote that most gamers will be able to appreciate. Fans would have probably preferred a unique skin based on Mario, but this will do.
For those who are not planning to get a Switch 2 or might be late to take advantage of this promo, Epic stated on their official website that the emote may be available to purchase through the store sometime after March 31st, 2026.
It will be interesting to see what other exclusive Fortnite content Switch 2 owners will get in the future. Though the game didn’t perform well on the previous Switch, it was still able to house LEGO Fortnite and other games within this live-service. If anything, fans will just be happy to play this game well on a stronger device.
