Valorant is finally making its way to consoles, and many might be wondering if the title will feature crossplay with the original PC version. The game was released back in 2020 and it's only been available on PC, so this is the first time the popular tactical shooter will expand to other platforms.

Riot has revealed a few details about the matchmaking, including information about the crossplay feature.

Does Valorant have crossplay?

Although crossplay is enabled in Valorant, it's not what you probably expect it to be. Riot revealed through a frequently asked questions section on the game's website that the PC and console versions of Valorant won't feature crossplay.

However, the console version of Valorant does have crossplay, allowing matchmaking between PlayStation and Xbox players. In other words, if you are playing on a console and one of your friends is on PC, you won't be able to invite them or have a game with them.

The developer explained that "this is the best way for us to keep the experience fair and consistent for players on both console and PC."

Does Valorant have cross-progression?

On the other hand, Valorant does have cross-progression between its console and PC versions. As long as you're using the same Riot account, all the progression stays with you no matter the platform you're playing.

If you earned or purchased a new set of skins while playing on PC and decide to hop on the console version, the cosmetics will be in your inventory there.
