Leviatán Esports has unveiled the signing of the Valorant Champions 2023 winner Max "Demon1" Mazanov. Following an unsuccessful spell at NRG Esports, the American player has joined the VCT 2024 Americas Stage 2 champions.
The addition of the 22-year-old to the blue roster means he will play alongside his former Evil Geniuses teammate Corbin "C0M" Lee, with whom he won the Valorant Champions 2023.
Leviatán's progression throughout 2024 was outstanding as the roster went from bottoming the standings at the VCT 2024 Americas Kickoff to not only winning Stage 2 but also finishing among the best three teams at the Valorant Champions 2024.
As of now, Leviatán includes three world champions in the former Evil Geniuses duo and Erick "aspas" Santos, who won the Valorant Champions 2022 and has collected three back-to-back top-three finishes — two with LOUD and one with Leviatán Esports.
Looking at the names in the current Leviatán squad, it's fair to say the blue roster should be a contender to win-it-all in the VCT 2025. However, Demon1 has already been part of a failed super roster, with NRG Esports' 2024 season being the perfect example of it.
With the VCT 2025 season starting next year, only time will tell if Leviatán's squad will be up for the challenge and not only fulfill but also surpass the fans' expectations.
As of now, Leviatán's roster looks as follows:
- Francisco "kiNgg" Aravena
- Erick "aspas" Santos
- Ian "tex" Botsch
- Corbin "C0M" Lee
- Max "Demon1" Mazanov
