Just five months after being crowned the Rainbow Six world champions, TSM FTX have announced that Brady "Chala" Davenport has been benched.

Chala, said TSM, has "chosen to step away from the game".

The experienced player has been competing in R6 since Year Two and has previously competed on rosters such as Lethal Gaming, FlipSid3 Tactics (the roster which eventually became DarkZero Esports), and the very first iteration of Spacestation Gaming.

With SSG, he notably attended both the 2019 Six Invitational and the Six Major Raleigh, exiting both in the quarter-finals. Following this, he was replaced by Troy "Canadian" Jaroslawski on the team and joined TSM almost a year later to replace Owen "Pojoman" Mitura, who moved into a coaching role.

The 2020 season was pretty successful for TSM and Chala, as they finished every event in the top two in North America before exiting the 2021 Six Invitational in fourth place. Since then, though they only qualified for one of four Six Majors due to weak regional performances, they conquered the global scene by winning the 2022 Six Invitational.

Now following ninth and eighth place finishes in the first two stages of the 2022 season, TSM have opted to make a change and have moved on from Chala.

During the most recent NA League stage, Chala ended with the sixth lowest rating in the tournament, albeit on hard support roles. He was also the roster's newest addition despite having been there for over two years.

TSM will now be looking for a replacement player as they hope to return to the top of the NA League in Stage 3. Realistically, TSM will need to win the November Major to have any chance of qualifying for the Six Invitational 2023 before the open qualifiers, making this a tall task for the roster.
