CAG Osaka have qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal after defeating Crest Gaming Lst in Japan’s Last Chance Qualifier grand final.
After losing the first map of the series, the Cyclops had to comeback with wins on Nighthaven Labs and Consulate.
Montreal will be CAG Osaka’s third consecutive BLAST R6 Major after also qualifying for Atlanta and Manchester. In all tournaments, the Japanese had to dispute the play-in stage first. While in Atlanta they couldn’t progress to the Swiss Stage, Manchester saw the Japanese moving to the second phase of the tournament after victories over Team Cruelty and Geekey Esports. Eventually, the Cyclops finished with a 1-3 record as they could only take E1 Sports down.
CAG Osaka and SCARZ will represent the Japanese region in Montreal, with both teams still playing to clinch spots to compete at the Six Invitational 2025, which will take place in Boston, Massachusetts. As of now, SCARZ is in ninth place with 320 SI Points, while CAG Osaka sits in thirteenth place with 280 SI Points.
To qualify for the Swiss Stage, CAG Osaka will have to defeat two teams from the play-in stage, which currently includes FearX, Team Falcons, and Chiefs. The list will also include the four-best seeds from Europe, North America, and Brazil, and the LATAM League champion.
