BR6 Week 1 Preview: Brazil is back to LAN, all eyes on Ninjas in Pyjamas

The Brasileirao is back today.

After more than a month since the last Brasileirao match, the teams are back in action today. The hype around the competition grew a few weeks back after the confirmation that the league would be on LAN, joining the North American League as the only two Siege top-flight leagues to be held offline.

Matches and schedule

Expectations are high for both Team Liquid and w7m esports, who are labeled by many as the two favorites to make the Copa Elite Six cut. Following a very dominant display throughout the first stage, where w7m’s only loss came in the final playday, people are still wondering if the team can be capable of replicating it. W7m esports first two matches will be against FaZe Clan and FURIA, who have suffered changes in their respective staff teams.

All eyes will be on Ninjas in Pyjamas’ Gustavo “Wizard” Gomes though, who is set to make his professional debut in what’s possibly going to be the team’s toughest weekend in the competition. The Six Invitational 2021 champions will face Team Liquid and MIBR in a crucial stage for them following a very disappointing start to the year.

Another squad who’s wanting to prove its worth is 00 Nation, a roster whose individual quality might be one of the highest in the country. The team will face Lorenzo “Lagonis” Volpi in its Stage 2 debut, a very special contest as four of the five Mexico Major champions will be in the match. 00 Nation’s second test of the weekend will be against FaZe Clan.

MIBR are going to be playing with a coach for the first time since Matheus “Budega” Figueiredo after the signing of former FaZe Clan analyst César “Dark” Adriano. With a coach this time, the team could shake the top places. FURIA Esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas will be their opponents this weekend.

Finally, INTZ and Black Dragons will be facing each other in the teams’ first game of the season, with BD as one of the potential candidates to upset the big names after finishing in fifth on the first stage.
