Right after the conclusion of the match between the Chiefs and CAG Osaka, the draw for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal Phase 2 got underway.

Considering that Phase 2 follows a Swiss format where teams face opponents with the same match record, the draw only saw teams being paired for the first round. Starting from there, their results will be what decides who they play next.

Here are the matches that will be played in the first round of Montreal's Phase 2:

  • Team BDS vs. w7m esports
  • FaZe Clan vs. Spacestation Gaming
  • Soniqs vs. Virtus.pro
  • Team Secret vs. Elevate
  • Team Liquid vs. G2 Esports
  • DarkZero Esports vs. Team Falcons
  • SCARZ vs. Chiefs ESC
  • Dplus vs. Black Dragons

Among the eight confirmed matches to be played on November 10, here are our favorite three:

  • Team BDS vs. w7m esports: It will be a replay of the Esports World Cup grand finals, a match that ended in a 3-0 victory for the European roster.
  • Team Liquid vs. G2 Esports: Both rosters met at the BLAST R6 Major Manchester as the Blue Cavalry defeated the European powerhouse. It will be the fans' chance to see two Six Mexico Major champions facing off in Karl "Alem4o" Zarth (G2 Esports) and Lorenzo "Lagonis" Volpi (Team Liquid).
  • Soniqs vs. Virtus.pro: Both rosters finished among the best six teams at the Six Invitational 2024. However, despite starting the year with a solid performance in Brazil, both teams missed out on the BLAST R6 Major Manchester after an underwhelming start to the season.

The winners of the games will move to the upper side of the bracket, while the losers will move to the lower side of the bracket. Starting from the second round of Montreal's Phase 2, teams will only be able to play against other rosters with the same record. Therefore, a team that won the first match will play against another team that won the first match. The opposite will happen to teams that lost their first match.

Keep in mind that all of the matches will follow a BO1 format except for the elimination matches, which will follow a BO3 format.

The teams that secure three wins will qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal Finals, where the best eight rosters will compete to become international champions.
