Liberty Falls, one of the Black Ops 6 Zombies launch maps, features a main easter egg that any player can complete. Just like the Terminus one, this quest reveals more about the Dark Aether storyline and gives a few rewards to those who manage to complete it.
If you plan to do it in your next game, we have prepared a full guide explaining each step carefully so you don't get lost.
How to complete the Liberty Falls easter egg
Before we dive into the steps, it is worth noting the Liberty Falls easter egg can be completed in both solo or coop matches. We also recommend you take as few rounds as possible to progress through since this will make the last fight at the end less difficult.
For the first step, gather enough money and open all the doors until you reach inside the Church, where the Pack-a-Punch is. We recommend you take the route through the motel, pass the bowling alley, and go up the stairs.
Inside the church, you will find a machine on the right side. Interact with it to trigger an in-game cutscene.
In this cutscene, a projection of Dr. Panos will appear on top of the church's balcony and start to explain that he is trapped in the Dark Aether.
He will ask the players to collect three objects, but the Jet Gun is required to do that. So you will have to get it either through the box or by assembling it after gathering its parts. Check out this separate guide where we explain step by step how to get this wonder weapon.
Once you have the Jet Gun, it's time to collect the three items Dr. Panos was talking about. Head over to Olly's Comics, the comic book store where the Quick Revive is.
Inside, right in the middle, you will see that the ceiling is missing a piece. The first part will be in there and to grab it, all you need to do is to get as close as possible and use the Jet Gun's suction beam to make it go down.
For the second part, go down to Hill Street coming from the church and climb to the top of the red building shown in the image below, which has the Speed Cola machine on the other side.
Go to the edge of the building, to the side where the Speed Cola is, and you will have to jump on top of the white truck that's in the next screenshot.
Once you make the jump, turn around and move to the edge of the truck so you can see inside the opened Buzz's Cuts second-story window.
The second object will be there and just like the previous one, use the suction bean of the Jet Gun to draw it to you.
For the third part, return to the church and look up to the balcony where the projection of Panos appeared in the first cutscene of the easter egg.
You will immediately see a floating object in the shape of a hat on the left-hand side of the handrail. Get close to it, use the suction beam, and you will now have all three parts to build the LTG device.
This object can only be built with the Crafting station that is on top of the bank, the building where the Juggernog is. To reach it, use the zipline that starts at the Cemetery.
As you can see, the zipline is close to the lower-level entrance when coming from Hill Street. After you reach the bank's rooftop, the crafting table you need will be on the left side after the green tent and the white rooftop bulkhead.
Interact with the crafting table to build the LTG and pick it up before leaving the rooftop.
The next step involves making a special enemy spawn and capturing it inside some special canisters for the machine that's inside the church.
So go back to the church and you will see one of the Aether canisters protruding off the machine. Get as close as possible and hold down your interact button to pick it up. Thanks to a bug, the game sometimes doesn't let you pick up the canister. If that happens to you, try several times until it works.
You won't be able to sprint while having the canister, so keep that in mind. Carry it to one of the electrical traps on the map, with one on spawn right next to the gas station and the other on the uphill way of Hill Street.
For this run, we placed the first canister on the trap from Hill Street. As you can see, make sure the canister is on top or near one of the circular devices on the ground that are connected to the central generator, since you want it to be inside the trap's radius.
Both traps have a generator, from where you can activate it, and the electricity is emitted through the circular devices on the ground.
After that is set, it's time to find one of the Aether storms of the map. There are two in total, each one close to one electrical trap. One storm is on the Cemetery, close to the Hill Street trap, and the other is on Riverside, close to the gas station trap in the spawn area.
For this step, you will have to place the LTG device under one of the storms and protect it until the countdown finishes. So pick one storm and underneath it, there will be a stand on the ground where you can interact to place the device.
After doing that, zombies will spawn indefinitely until the countdown is over or until the portal's integrity reaches zero. All the zombies with purple smoke around them will target the portal, the rest will come after you.
You will have to eliminate those zombies before they touch the portal, otherwise, the integrity will go down. If the portal's integrity reaches zero, the device will go offline and you won't be able to retry this step until the next round.
If you're successful, a special zombie will spawn out of the portal, which can be the super Mangler with a red suit or the three-headed dog (Noctoomi). The next thing is to lower its health until purple smoke starts coming out of it and then capture its essence.
To capture the essence, you must draw the enemy to the Aether canister you placed earlier and activate the trap once it's inside the radius.
The trap should finish the enemy and the canister will absorb its essence.
You will then have to transport this canister back into the machine inside the church. To do that, simply interact with the canister to pick it up and insert it back into the machine. You'll have a limited time to do this, otherwise, the essence will be lost and you will have to repeat this whole process.
Once you complete this, it's time to capture the essence of a second enemy and fill the last spot in the machine with the canister.
Before capturing the essence of the second creature, you must get another Aether canister first. Return to the church and, after turning in the first canister, a drawer from the machine will pop out.
Inside, there will be a Strauss Counter device that you can pick up. If you're playing coop, each player can pick up their own counter.
Now you will use this device to set up three machines across the map to the right setting. The first one will be in the grassy area of Hilltop Stairs, the area between the bowling alley and the church, where the Flopper is.
Once there, pull out the Strauss Counter using the same button assigned to the tactical equipment. This device will show you one of three colors: green, yellow, or purple.
You will then have to set up the machine's light, using your interact button, depending on the color shown on the counter. Here is the logic you need to follow:
- If the Strauss Counter shows green, the machine's light should be red.
- If the Strauss Counter shows yellow, the machine's light should be yellow.
- If the Strauss Counter shows red, the machine's light should be green.
For instance, this is the correct light for the machine in the following example:
The Strauss Counter color will vary for each game and each machine, so just follow the logic listed before and you should be good.
To find the next machine, you will have to get to the bank's roof again (the building where the Juggernog perk machine is). Just use the Cemetery zipline just like you did before to find the crafting table to build the LTG device.
From there, you will see there is a blocked jump-off close to The Arsenal machine. Spend your points to clear it and then drop down, you will find a lower rooftop with the second machine on it.
Check your Strauss Counter, set up the machine's color correctly, and then move on to the next one.
The last one will be on the backyard close to the Graveyard's Keeper toolshed, where you got one of the pieces of the Jet Gun.
Once you set up all three machines, they will emit a purple energy beam. This is your indication that the step has been completed.
Now head back to the gas station in the spawn area and you will see that the device holding the last Aether canister has been unlocked, with the canister sticking out of it.
Now repeat the same process as before, pick up the canister and place it on any of the map's electrical traps.
You will have to use the other storm because you can't do this process twice on the same one. If you placed the LTG device on the Cemetery's storm for the previous step, head back, pick it up, and once you're ready, place it under the storm in the Riverside area. If you used the Riverside storm for the first time, do the opposite.
After the countdown is over, a new boss zombie will appear (the big Mangler or the three-headed dog), lower its health until you see purple smoke, draw it to the electrical trap you placed the second canister, and use it to finish it off. After capturing the creature's essence, the only thing remaining will be to bring the canister to the church's device.
Now it's time to prepare for the last step of the easter egg, which involves surviving three difficult rounds of Zombies inside the church. We recommend you upgrade your weapons, get the armor upgrades, craft monkey bombs, mutant injections or other scorestreaks on the crafting table, and get your best Gobblegums.
Once you (and your teammates) are ready, get inside the church and interact with the machine(which is a SOG Generator) to start this final step.
After surviving, a new cutscene will play and you will then have the option to continue playing or end the match.
