Apart from the Field Upgrades, classic perks, and ammo mods returning to Black Ops 6, there is a new addition in round-based zombies, Augments. As the term literally suggests, Augments will enhance your load-out capabilities - but you can only use them so much.
How do augments work and how can one unlock them? We answer all these questions in the article below. Read on to learn more.
What are Augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies?
Augments will enhance the capabilities of your loadout.
Each ammo mod, perk, or Field Upgrade will have its own ‘research path’, as the developers describe it. The research path will allow players to gain more information about their loadouts, and during the process, they will come across ‘revelations.’
Revelations will further unlock more power for your loadout, which can be then added as an Augment.
Developers have divided Augments into major and minor categories. Each item will have six Augments, three major and three minor. Out of these six, players can only equip two Augments (one major and one minor) on their perks, ammo mods, or Field Upgrades.
List of Augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies
Around 100 Augments are being added to Black Ops 6 Zombies, and while the developers haven’t revealed the full details about each one, there are a few examples that we have for players to get a more practical sense of how they will work.
Field Upgrade augments
Dark Flare is a new Field Upgrade in Black Ops 6 Zombies, generating a beam of energy that’ll deal lethal damage to the undead opposition.
At present, two Augments have been revealed regarding the Dark Flare:
- Heavy Shadow
- Shadow Ball
Heavy Shadow is a Minor Augment, while the Shadow Ball is Major. The former’s ability allows the Dark Flare’s beam to reduce a zombie’s speed, while the major Augment here replaces the beam with a sphere that deals damage to zombies as it moves, detonating at the end of its duration.
Perk augments
COD Black Ops 6 Zombies will also introduce a new Perk: the Macchiato Perk. Here are two Augments regarding the brand-new item:
- Hidden Impact (Minor Augment)
- Vampirism (Major Augment)
Hidden Impact will allow players to reload a certain amount of ammo on their held weapon after a melee kill. Vampirism will grant players 25 health for successful melee attacks.
Ammo Mods Augments
There are numerous Augments available for Ammo Mods too. At present, however, only two Augments have been revealed for Shadow Rift:
- Targeted (Minor Augment)
- Explosive Rain (Major Augment)
Targeted makes the dropped zombies fall on other zombies, while Explosive Rain will make the zombies dropping from the portal explode in contact with the ground.
How to unlock an Augment in Black Ops 6 Zombies?
While there hasn’t been much information on how to practically unlock an Augment, we know for sure that delving deep into the Research Path will reveal the answers.
