
As we approach Valorant's fifth anniversary, Riot Games has put some light on the shooter's future as they explained their most exciting plans in the short and mid-term.
Including agent updates, a new competitive map, actions against smurfing, and the addition of Multi-Factor Authentication, a move to Unreal 5, the addition of the long-awaited replay system, among many others, Valorant's future looks extremely exciting.

Here's everything that has been announced in Valorant's 5th anniversary update:
- Valorant to have a special battle pass to celebrate the game's fifth anniversary
- New competitive map to be released in patch 11.00
- Riot Games to add Multi-Factor Authentication to Valorant this year
- Riot Games is currently exploring new ideas to balance Valorant agents
- Valorant will migrate to Unreal Engine 5 in July 2025
- The replay system will be released in September 2025 for PC and later in the year for consoles
- Team Tags will be added in Premier with patch 11.00
- Pick'Ems to be added to all future Masters and Champions editions
- Valorant Esports exploring opportunity to make larger changes to circuit in 2027 season
Despite today's announcement being relatively short, Riot Games has had a deep look at what's coming to the game in the upcoming six months. It's now time to patiently wait for the updates, which will logically be combined with future agent balancing tweaks, exclusive skin bundles, and many more. After all, it's Valorant's fifth birthday, so have fun!
