Even though Episode 8 Act 3 of Valorant started a few weeks ago, players are still waiting for the biggest addition for this season: a new map.
The official reveal is set to take place before the finals of VCT Masters Shanghai, but it appears that the map's name has leaked. The ValorantLeaksEN account on X (formerly Twitter) posted a promo picture for the map, which reveals it will be titled Abyss.

Interestingly enough, the art for this map features the same color palette and style of the Abyssal skinline collection that was added to the game in a previous season.
Riot has been teasing Abyss since the start of Episode 8 Act 2 with a Player Card through the battle pass that gave us a look at the setting. All signs were pointing that this map would take place underground and now that we know the name, it feels more and more likely.
We will know for sure this upcoming Sunday, June 9, as the map will be showcased on the main stage. Players won't have to wait long to play since the map will be added to the live version of the game with patch 8.11, which is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, June 11.
