Game 1: FaZe Clan 6 -3 BootKamp Gaming
Map: Oregon
FaZe Clan: Yoona, Astro, Cameram4n, Mav and Muringa
BootKamp: Dudds, Paluh, Mking, Bor and Intact
In their previous meeting on playday two, Bootkamp prevented FaZe Clan from getting a point when they won 6-4 thanks to a 5v2 clutch performed by Mking and Dudds in the final round. In this match, BKG took the lead twice early in the match but after round three, FaZe Clan took control of the game-winning 6-3. This is now FaZe’s fourth consecutive win in the LATAM Pro League meaning they stay on top of the LATAM standings for a second straight Playday. With 19 points, FaZe Clan are poised to become the second team with 20 or more points outside the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region alongside G2 from the European region.
Game 2: Black Dragons 6-4 Pain Gaming
Map: Consulate
Black Dragons: Lev1, Sm4ll, Rdz, Drunkz, and Slash
Pain Gaming: Ninext, Spawnsss, FK1, GCR, and Revo1tz
In the previous meeting between these two teams, the game ended in a draw and now, with both teams coming off of a victory from playday eight, both teams will be hoping to improve on that and take away all three points. To start things off, Pain Gaming took a 3-0 lead in the first half but BD answered back by winning five rounds straight to put themselves on match point. The last time BD was up 5-3 against Pain Gaming, they allowed Pain Gaming to come back and tie the game, however, this time BD closed out the game with a 6-4 scoreline.
This victory is Black Dragon’s second win this season putting them just three points away from getting out of the relegation zone. This is a significant improvement compared to the first half of Season 8 in which they only managed to acquire two points showing that BD’s decision to replace Docky with Sm4ll has certainly been an impactful change.
Game 3: Ninjas In Pyjamas 5 - 5 Team oNe Esports
Map: Coastline
NiP: Julio, Wag, Pzd, Kamikaze, and Psycho
oNe: Panico, Gdnn1, Iblackz, Ion, and Hugzord
Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team oNe are two teams in vastly different situations; NiP are trying to get out of the relegation zone while Team oNe are trying to qualify for the Pro League Finals in Rio. NiP needed three points to get themselves out of eighth place in the standings but they only managed to salvage one point as, on match point, Team oNe’s attack onto Kitchen/Service Entrance overwhelmed the NiP defence ending the game 5-5. This draw keeps NiP in eighth place for a second consecutive playday with them now five points from safety.
Game 4: Team Liquid 6 - 2 Immortals
Map: Coastline
Team Liquid: Nesk, Bullet, Zig, Psk1, and S3xyCake
Immortals: Novys, D1ogo1, Cyb3r, One, and Yuuk
In the first half of Season 8, both Liquid and Immortals were first and second respectively in the LATAM standings and have since both dropped one place after their loses on playday eight. In their second meeting of Season 8, Liquid and Immortals were looking to find their way back to their previous places in the standings, however, just like in the previous meeting between these teams, Liquid came out victorious. The match could have been at least nine rounds, however, S3xyCake’s heroics with Zofia’s withstand ability prevented that from happening in the literal last second of round eight. This result keeps Liquid in the top two of the standings with 17 points with third place Immortals just three points behind them.
