Following the end of his contract with Team Vitality today, Fabian "Fabian" Hällsten has joined forces with Niklas "KS" Massierer, Fynn "Drvn" Lorenzen, and Marc "Jume" Steinmann to form 'Delta Project'.

The fifth player is not yet announced and, with Jume unable to formally join Delta Project thanks to the closed transfer window, former G2 Esports talisman Niclas "Pengu" Mouritzen will be standing-in for the first week of the Challenger League qualifiers.

Also on Delta Project will be the former G2 Esports analysts Daniel "Ferral" Rotheram and Jack "Fresh" Thomas Allen, who will be coaching the team, with Tristan "Saethus" Savage also joining as an analyst.

The formation of this team marks the first time Fabian and KS will play alongside each other again, having been on the ESL Pro League title-winning PENTA Sports squads in Seasons 4 and 5.

The two had parted ways when PENTA had failed to win at the Pro League Season 6 Finals, with KS spending time on a few different iterations of the German roster that would become Team Secret.

On that German roster, KS would also rub shoulders with Drvn, with the two spending about a year together. The German pairing thus also reunites on Delta Project after about nine months apart.

Fabian also reunites with both Fresh and Ferral, though the two coaches had been analysts for G2 Esports about a year apart from each other.

Jume and Saethus, meanwhile, had not been on any of the former teams of the rest of their teammates. However, Jume had made his name in the European FPL (FACEIT Pro League) circuit, while Saethus had played in Season 2 of the UK & Ireland Nationals on London Esports.

This new team, still searching for its fifth player, will be taking on the Challenger League qualifiers, with Pengu standing in for Jume this weekend's qualifier.
