As we get closer to the official reveal, more and more Black Ops 7 details have started to come out through unofficial channels. The latest leak talks about the campaign and reveals a very interesting detail that people probably aren't expecting.
According to a new report from Insider-Gaming, the 12th and final mission of the campaign will be a 32-player multiplayer match that will take place in Avalon. As many will recall, this map was originally going to be added to Warzone before plans changed and Verdansk was prioritized, according to multiple reports.
The report describes this mission as an extraction shooter game, where players will drop into the map, complete any sort of objectives, and exfil alive to succeed. The mission will be hardcore, meaning players who die will lose all progress and will have to restart it from the beginning.
On top of that, the report also mentions that all three major modes in the game will have a unified progression. This means that players will have the same level across all modes, and can play any of them to progress. Given that the campaign's last mission turns into a multiplayer match, this change will fit perfectly into that.
These leaks come only a day after it was reported that the new title will bring specialist abilities back, three Black Ops 2 maps at launch, and other gameplay changes like the lack of tactical sprint.
The game's official reveal will take place on Tuesday, August 19, during the Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live presentation. The information we are expecting for this event will mostly focus on the campaign, and we will probably have to wait for this year's COD Next event to know more about Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. In the meantime, you can read all the major details we know about the game here.
