Team Liquid have knocked out the current world champions FURIA Esports of the BLAST R6 Major Manchester after a heated series with games on Kafe Dostoyevsky, Nighthaven Labs, and Chalet.

The Blue Cavalry started the series on the right foot after defeating the Six Invitational 2024 champions on the Russian map by 7-5 after coming back from a 2-4 first half. Eventually, the Brazilians were on the verge of closing the series on Nighthaven Labs after grabbing a 6-5 lead while defending. However, a tech pause watered down Liquid's momentum as FURIA Esports ended up winning on maximum overtime.

Finally, Team Liquid sent the Six Invitational 2024 champions back home after a rock-solid performance on Chalet, where the team's four attacking rounds during the first half of the map proved to be differential as the Panthers could only get one of their four offensive rounds.

FURIA Esports' defeat today means that the Brazilian roster won't be able to get a third consecutive BLAST R6 Major trophy, as they had won in Copenhagen and Atlanta under w7m esports.

Meanwhile, this result sees Team Liquid move to the semi-finals of the BLAST R6 Major Manchester, where they will play against the winner of the match between FaZe Clan and Beastcoast.
