Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection: Release date, platforms, games, and more

The Force is strong with this one

Star Wars Battlefront Clasic Collection

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection will update two beloved classics and put them together in a nice package filled with quality-of-life updates for franchise fans.

The first two Battlefront games were released in back-to-back years, starting in September 2004, with the sequel launching in October 2005. For many, Battlefront II was the definitive experience, as it added multiple playable characters absent from the first one, such as Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Han Solo.

10 years later, EA attempted to relaunch the franchise with a Battlefront reboot that was torn by fans, as it focused exclusively on PvP content, lacking some key components that made the original so beloved, like a standalone single-player campaign.

So, if you're waiting for the Battlefront Classic Collection but are wondering what's coming alongside the remasters, then we got you covered with this guide.

Battlefront Classic Collection release date and platforms

The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is releasing on March 14. Players on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam will be able to get their hands on the remaster.

Cost

If you are interested in getting the game, you'll be happy to hear that it won't be a full $70. Battlefront Classic Collection will retail for $35, so it's definitely a more reasonable price.

Battlefront Classic Collection modes and maps

If you've never played the original Battlefront titles, you'll be happy to hear that they're jam-packed with content. Not only do they feature plenty of single-player modes, but they can also be played online in lobbies of up to 64 players.

This is everything confirmed that's shipping with the game.

Single-player modes:

  • Galactic Conquest: Form your own army and traverse the galaxy as you look to conquer it
  • Star Wars Battlefront campaign: Covering the stories from Star Wars Episodes I-VI
  • Star Wars Battlefront II campaign: An original story in which you join Darth Vader’s elite 501st Legion of Stormtroopers

Expanded Hero Assault

Hero Assault will now be playable on all ground maps, including Death Star, Kashyyyk, Kamino, and Naboo.

Hero Assault is a special mode that basically functions as Heroes vs Villains from other titles in the franchise, with players able to select a variety of characters to make their side triumph.

As for the maps, both games in the Battlefront Classic Collection will ship with all original maps available at launch. On top of that, the remaster will add console-exclusive for all versions of the game, these are:

Star Wars Battlefront

  • Jabba's Palace

Star Wars Battlefront II (Classic)

  • Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Harbor, Rhen Var: Citadel, and Yavin 4: Arena
