M80 has qualified for the Six Invitational 2025 after Black Dragons and ALPHA Team clinched spots to compete at the BLAST R6 Major Montreal.
This will be M80's third Six Invitational since the former XSET squad was picked up by the green organization. In 2023, M80 finished among the best eight sides in the tournament. Unfortunately, the team's result in 2024 was their worst one, as they couldn't make it out of the group stage.
With 350 SI Points, the green roster has mathematically secured a spot to compete at the Six Invitational 2025 as only nine rosters could overtake them on the Global Standings — in which case M80 would fall to 16th place.
Meanwhile, FURIA Esports, who will miss out on the BLAST R6 Major Montreal, currently sit behind M80 with 345 SI Points. Unfortunately, that tally isn't enough to qualify for Boston right now. Let's explain why the five-point difference means so much:
Ahead of the BLAST R6 Major Montreal, 15 teams below M80 can still add more SI Points to their respective tallies. However, four of the five closest teams below M80 haven't qualified for Montreal, including FURIA Esports, Bleed Esports, PSG Talon, and Gaimin Gladiators. This is crucial as, the upsets in Asia, Oceania, South Korea, and LATAM have reduced the number of SI Points needed to qualify for Montreal.
Realistically, the only team that could overtake M80 with a Swiss Stage elimination is SCARZ, as the Japanese would finish the season with 370 SI Points if they concluded Montreal's Phase 2 with a 2-3 match record.
With the team affording to be overtaken by eight more teams, this means that no matter what teams move to the playoffs, the green roster will always qualify for the Six Invitational 2025.
Meanwhile, with the possibility of having at least nine teams below FURIA Esports finishing the season above their current tally still being alive, the Brazilians will have to wait to mathematically lock a Six Invitational 2025 spot. However, it looks very likely for them, as they only need one roster out of Team BDS, DarkZero Esports, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, or Team Secret to qualify for Montreal's playoffs.
