David "Iconic" Ifidon will undergo corrective surgery after detecting "two isolated cysts" on a "nerve ending within Iconic's mouse wrist," according to the announcement made by SBL Management.

Due to his current situation, the American has decided to "take a step back to address ongoing chronic pain stemming from an undiagnosed injury." Shortly, the former Astralis, M80, and Spacestation Gaming player will "undergo corrective surgery to remove the cysts" which will be followed by a "comprehensive recovery process, supported by his family and the SBL Team, as he works towards regaining full health as well as the ability to compete at the highest level."

The 22-year-old parted ways with M80 in February 2024 to join Spacestation Gaming one month later. Unfortunately, the American's performances were far from what the team and the fans expected, which ended in the astronauts' decision to remove Iconic from the squad.

The player's best results in Rainbow Six Siege's competitive scene include two grand final performances at the Six Charlotte Major and the Gamers8 2023, a Top 4 finish at the Six Invitational 2023 for Astralis, and the North American League 2022 championship.
