Halfway through the group stage, we now know which teams could clinch a Berlin Major playoff spot on Day 2.

FaZe Clan

After a perfect start to the group stage with regulation victories over G2 Esports, Soniqs, and SANDBOX Gaming, the Brazilians will qualify for the Berlin Major playoffs if they defeat the Koreans again today.

FaZe Clan headed into the tournament as the main favorites to win the group stage. With nine points to their name, it looks like the Brazilians will meet their expectations.

w7m esports

After defeating all their opponents in the group once already, w7m esports are in a very comfortable place. A victory over Oxygen Esports in the final game of the day will see the bulls qualify for the Berlin Major playoffs.

Oxygen’s only victory so far has come against the APAC rookies Gaimin Gladiators, who only have one point after falling in maximum overtime against Wolves Esports.

Elevate

Elevate’s remaining game today will be against Astralis, who are currently in third place with just two points. A victory against the Americans would see the Thai squad qualify for the playoffs at an international event for the second time.

Astralis desperately need the win to keep their playoff hopes alive. After finishing as the second-best team at the Charlotte Major, the Danish brand could be on its way home after just two days in Berlin. Only a victory against Elevate would stop that from happening.

FURIA Esports

FURIA Esports will qualify for the Berlin Major playoffs if they get a regulation victory over MNM Gaming and Elevate defeat Astralis in regulation time.

The Brazilians’ are close to qualifying for the playoffs of a Major for the first time since the Mexico Major. They did, however, also qualify for the SI 2022 playoffs.

Although it’s not completely up to them to clinch a spot for the playoffs tonight, the results so far suggest that this will be very possible.
