In what's their Valorant Champions debut, G2 Esports' Valorant team have become the first former Ascension roster to reach the Valorant Champions playoffs. This is unsurprising as G2 Esports finished in third place at the VCT Masters Shanghai, only behind Team Heretics and Gen.G Esports.
Moreover, G2 Esports have become the first Americas team to clinch a playoff spot in Seoul. Therefore, G2 Esports' victory against EDward Gaming is Americas' revenge for the first result of the day.
With today's result, G2 Esports have finished as the third-best first seed in the group stage behind DRX (+12 round difference) and Trace Esports (+9). Behind them is Team Heretics, with +3.
