After a 7-1 win over Elevate, FURIA have qualified for the Berlin Major playoffs and have eliminated Astralis and MNM Gaming from the running.
This puts them onto 10 points, while MNM and Astralis will only be able to reach nine today.
This follows earlier 7-1 and 6-8 wins against MNM, a 7-4 win against Astralis, and a 5-7 loss against Elevate.
This is the second time FURIA have qualified for the quarter-finals of a Major, following a their top eight exit at the Mexico Major a year ago. Since then, the team brought in two rookies in March, and replaced their coach with Julio "Julio" Giacomelli from NiP in June.
They finished this stage of the BR6 League in second place and finished fourth during the Copa Elite Six to qualify for the Major. Here, the roster has had a mixed event as they won both games on day one only to lose both on day two.
Now, FURIA join Elevate in locking in a playoff spot in Group D.
As such, Astralis vs MNM and Astralis vs FURIA, are purely for seeding. FURIA can still overtake Elevate for first place, while Astralis will be eager to overtake MNM Gaming and not be last after their grand final appearance at the preceding Charlotte Major.
