Dr Disrespect confirms shocking reason behind Twitch ban

The mystery is over

Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm has finally confirmed the reason behind his mysterious Twitch ban, which occurred in 2020, confirming the new rumors that resurfaced recently.

After a former Twitch employee stated on social media this past June 21 that Dr Disrespect got banned for "sexting" with a minor with hopes of meeting them at TwitchCon, the platform's annual streamer gathering, Doc responded on June 25 confirming that he messaged a minor using the whispers feature, and that the conversations sometimes leaned into the "inappropriate."

While Dr Disrespect did confirm he engaged in conversations with a minor, he completely denied having intentions to meet up with the person in question.

Were there twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes. Were there real intentions behind these messages, the answer is absolutely not. These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more. Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual

The lengthy statement ends with the Doc saying he'll take an extended vacation, with no streams on YouTube for the foreseeable future, but he intends to return to content creation at a later date.

Once the reason for his Twitch ban became public, Robert Bowling, the studio head at Midnight Society (a new developer co-founded by Dr Disrespect) confirmed that Doc would no longer be a part of the company. He made this announcement via his personal Twitter account, supporting the initial statement made by the company on June 24.

While former Twitch employees have been the ones who made the reason for Dr Disrespect's ban public, the company has yet to make a statement on the matter. However, it seems unlikely they'll address the controversy considering they severed all ties with the content creator after reaching a legal agreement in 2022.
