Episode: Revenant Act III has kicked off in Destiny 2. The new batch of content brought a new exotic shotgun for players to obtain: Slayer's Fang.
Bungie's looter shooter has been suffering to maintain a steady player base following the release of last year's Final Shape. Reports from Paul Tassi at Forbes state that Destiny 2 has lost nearly 90% of its user base introduced during 2024's expansion.
Still, if you're one of the loyal grinders, you'll be excited to get your hands on this new exotic shotgun. So let's break down everything you need to know about getting Slayer's Fang in Destiny 2.
How to get Slayer's Fang in Destiny 2
Getting Slayer's Fang is relatively straightforward: you need to complete the new Kell's Fall exotic mission.
The Slayer's Fang is a very solid exotic shotgun
The weapon is absolutely excellent and playable as is, however, it hides plenty of upgrades. Its intrinsic perk can be upgraded and there are four catalysts that can improve Slayer's Fang's performance.
Slayer's Fang perks in Destiny 2
As with every exotic weapon, the shotgun comes with two unique perks:
- Nightsworn Sight: Defeating targets grants you Nightsworn Sight. While this buff is active, final blows grant Truesight, shots weaken targets, and ammo gradually reloads from reserves
- Heart Piercer: Rounds shatter into submunitions on impact, stunning Overload Champions
The Nightsworn Sight perk can be upgraded up to three times, giving the weapon stat boosts to handling, range, and stability.
Slayer's Fang catalysts in Destiny 2
Slayer's Fang has a total of four catalysts. Unlike previous exotic missions, you can obtain them all in a single run of the Expert difficulty of Kell's Fall. These are:
- Repulsor Brace Refit: Grants an overshield when you defeat a target afflicted with a Void debuff
- Loose Change Refit: Applying an elemental debuff boosts ADS movement speed, aim assist, and reload speed
- Stats For All Refit: Rapidly damaging three combatants buffs handling, reload speed, stability, and range
- Cascade Point Refit After getting a kill with a different weapon, this weapon gains increased fire rate. Effect also applies with rapid precision hits
