The Black Ops 6 beta is happening soon, and this will be the first official opportunity for players to try out the multiplayer side of the new title.
With several new weapons, new gameplay mechanics like the omnimovement, and new maps to try, anticipation is high. Here is everything you need to know to set up properly.
Black Ops 6 beta start date
During the first episode of the Call of Duty podcast, Treyarch announced the Black Ops 6 beta is starting on August 30. Just like in previous years, the beta will take place across two periods, and here's the full breakdown:
Early Access
- August 30th-September 4th
Open beta
- September 6th-September 9th
Players will need to either pre-order any edition of the game or get an Xbox Game Pass subscription to receive access to the first window. The second window will be open for all players.
Preload for the beta will be available from Wednesday, August 28.
Black Ops 6 beta download sizes
The beta's download size will vary on every platform and whether you have the Call of Duty HQ app installed or not. The following table lists the download sizes for each case:
Platform | Players with Call of Duty HQ and the Season 5 Reloaded update installed | Players without Call of Duty HQ installed |
---|---|---|
PlayStation 5 | 34 | 80 |
PlayStation 4 | 15 | 67 |
Xbox Series X|S | 35 | 75 |
Xbox One | 17 | 52 |
Battle.net | 32 | 74 |
Steam | 32 | 66 |
Microsoft Store | 29 | 68 |
HQ is the central hub that Call of Duty games have been using for the last two years. If you have Warzone, Modern Warfare 2 (2022), or Modern Warfare 3 (2023) installed on your device, the COD HQ app is what you open to play those titles.
Players with the Call of Duty HQ will automatically receive an update to download all the beta files, meaning you won't have to look for a different download on your platform's storefront.
