CS2 has one of the most active competitive scenes in all of esports, with leagues across the different regions and several teams participating in them. That is why this is one of the toughest games to become a pro player, as it will take a lot of dedication and talent to achieve that.

So it might sound surprising to hear that a professional football player, who plays in one of the biggest football leagues in the world, was able to jump in a competitive match and leave a good impression.

From football to CS2

A match between the teams Bleed Esports and Passion UA took place recently and it was part of the contenders stage of the YaLLa Compass Spring 2024 tournament. Passion UA is a Ukrainian team that was coming from a 2-0 win against Alliance in the previous match of the tournament, so you would imagine the team's motivation was high.

However, the team faced a problem ahead of their next match against BLEED Esports since one of their players from the starting roster, zeRRoFIX, was unable to play. This is where the 27-year-old Ukrainian football player, Oleksandr Zinchenko, stepped in to play as a substitute. He currently plays as a left-back or midfielder for both Arsenal and the Ukrainian national team, but football is not his only talent.

Although Passion UA was beaten 2-1, they were able to take a map from BLEED to prove some resilience, winning 16-12 on Ancient. They weren't that far behind on the other two maps, losing 8-13 on the first one and 11-13 on the third one. You could say a potential win was in sight given how close the third map was, but it didn't work out in the end.

Now Passion UA has a record of 1-1 in the current stage of the tournament, sitting at number 6 in the standings while BLEED sits second with a 2-0 overall match record.
