Hard breacher, soft breacher, vertical, horizontal destruction. There are many terms in Siege regarding destruction, but is this aspect important in Extraction?
We don’t think so. Explosions are cool, that’s true. Although these strategies are not that useful in Ubisoft’s brand new alien invasion title, they are not useless.
How do you know which walls can break in Rainbow Six Extraction?
Just like in Siege, experience will tell you what walls are destructible. Spend the first days to get used to the new mechanics and maps. You will quickly notice the destructible walls.
There’s one way to know what walls are destructible though. By getting close to one, you might be able to see Archaeans and nest through certain walls. These walls are always destructible, so you will be in position to fire your gun and blow their heads.
Remember, that’s the best way to get rid of them, as they won’t let off disgusting sprawl from their bodies.
What operators are best for breaching in Rainbow Six Extraction?
Sledge
Who’s better, Sledge or Buck? Well, this debate isn’t a thing in Extraction. With Buck not being in the team, Sledge is the only option. And what an option — his hammer is stronger than ever before, destroying a bigger hole than the ones he creates in Siege.
Sledge's only downside is that his only first weapon is the SAS shotgun until you reach level 6 on this operator.
Hibana
In Siege, Hibana is just a hard breacher — and, as far as we are aware, Archaeans didn't bring reinforcements from outer space. In Extraction, Hibana's XKAIROs have been modified so they can be useful in Extraction. And believe us when we say these are a great piece of utility here.
As the video shows, the XKAIROs detonate way quicker than in Siege. Also, these open a bigger surface.
But that's not enough, as XKAIROs can be used to kill Archaeans and their nests. You just have to aim well, shoot, and press the button. It's that easy.
Best gadgets for breaching in Rainbow Six Extraction
In Extraction, everyone can bring impact grenades. There's a catch though — Impact Grenades can be unlocked once you reach level 9.
Impact Grenades are useful to destroy nests or Archaeans. This gadget can also quickly open walls, a very needed piece of utility if you want to a second scape against herds of Archaeans.
REACT doors can also be opened with explosive gadgets, including impact grenades and bullets.
Extraction's destruction power on soft walls is huge, with operators being able to open full walls and hatches with bullets.
Can Archaeans destroy walls in R6 Extraction?
Yes, Archaeans can destroy walls. Some species might do it quicker than others, as there's a type of Archaean that explodes. Others will sprint forward to break it.
So, have this in mind in your future incursions! A good usage of explosions is very important so your missions are successful.
