Virtus.pro Out of Six Invitational 2021 After Two Members Test Positive for COVID-19

Just four days before the start of the Six Invitational 2021, Virtus.pro have been disqualified from the Six Invitational after two members tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Virtus.pro has been disqualified from the Six Invitational 2021 after team captain Alan "Rask" Ali and the analyst and substitute Andrey "Andreezy" Baviyan tested positive for COVID-19.

With only six members per team, the Russian team will thus be unable to play in the world championship tournament, set to start in four days.

Virtus.pro's inability to play in the Six Invitational 2021 follows fellow Group B team Wildcard Gaming's, with the Australians not playing after being unable to ensure a return to Australia after the event.

As a result, the format will see a slight tweak as per the stated rules.

Instead of the top eight teams progressing from both Groups A and B, nine teams from Group A will move onto the playoffs, while only seven of the eight will do so from Group B.

More updates as they come.
