The Saudi-run Gamers8 tournament has unveiled the final four participants that have been invited to compete for its $2 million prize pool.
Current world champions TSM, EUL 2021 champions Team BDS, BR6 2021 champions Team Liquid, and APAC North Stage 2 champions DWG KIA have been invited to join Saudi team Falcons Esport, WYLDE, Spacestation Gaming, and MIBR.
The latter four teams qualified through the regional-level Gamers Without Borders events and also won $250,000 each as a result.
The tournament will be played between Aug. 4 and 7, with the Berlin Major starting on Aug. 15. Although that’s not a problem for TSM and Team Liquid, who haven’t qualified for Berlin, DWG -- and maybe BDS -- will compete in both tournaments.
Gamers8 also tweeted out information about the format for the competition.
Teams will be divided in two groups of four rosters, with the group stage being a double-elimination GSL bracket. All group stage games will be BO3 maps and the best two teams from each group will advance to the final playoffs.
Gamers8 hasn’t unveiled if any of the matches will be to the BO5.
