FarmingSimulatorGG: The New Home of Competitive Farming

Introducing FarmSimGG -- news, highlights and statistics all in one place.

What do Rainbow Six Siege and Farming Simulator 2019 (FS19) have in common? An undying and endless obsession with farming, of course.

Over the years we have defended farms from alien zombie parasite hordes:

Defeated thousands of highly trained fanatical terrorists while in various rancher costumes:

And most recently, we stepped into the shoes of one of Australia’s finest soldiers -- the cattle rancher known as Gridlock -- to show us exactly where farming can take us in life, as seen on the Rainbow Six website:

A farm girl from Central Queensland, Tori “Gridlock” Tallyo Fairous learned from an early age that the best way through any hardship is with the help of family. Years spent running the family cattle farm honed her natural leadership skills, but her preferred method for dealing with problems is to get stuck into them herself and to ignore the inevitable paperwork that piles up afterwards.

The R6S developers in Montreal have clearly been teaching us the value of farming, ingraining it into us with every DLC and preparing us for something to come. And now, with the unveiling of the Farming Simulator League, we have uncovered their true purpose.

With the unveiling of the first year of Farming Simulator League, we can’t wait to bring you all the action from around the world. With sponsors such as Intel and Logitech supporting the event, €250K will be up for grabs over the next year, starting with LAN Finals at the Paris Games Week and Gamescom in Germany -- two venues Siege esports is very familiar with.

Every since the very first tournament at AgriTechnica 2017, people have been crowding wall-to-wall to watch one of the most promising esports come to life on the big screen. Now, the very first world finals of Farming Simulator at FarmCon 2020 is scheduled to be larger than the first Six Invitational with a $114k prize pool (compared to $100k for the Siege event). Farming is a way of life, and it shows, with these competitions and the massive one million copies sold in the first ten days of FS19’s release -- a figure once again well ahead of Rainbow Six: Siege.

The CEO of GIANTS Software, Christian Ammann, stated this in their announcement of the league showing just how dedicated they are to the game:

Competitive farming is something people enjoy for years now, but it hasn’t been done in esports so far. We have lots of esports enthusiasts in our company who can’t wait to show the world that farming can indeed be fun and competitive at the same time. We believe we found the right mix of real farming and fun to play game elements to ensure everyone will find it entertaining.

Farming Simulator is the future of esports with the capacity to bring millions of people from around the world together with their love of farming, a love we share and a love we can bring to you in 2019. News, highlights and statistics all in one place for the Farming Simulator 2019 can all be found at @FarmSim_GG starting with the first event of the year in Harsewinkel, Germany.
