Leaks for Marvel Rivals have confirmed that The Thing will be coming to this acclaimed superhero shooter soon. Ben Grimm is the most popular Fantastic Four character, so his debut in this game was like Thanos; inevitable. Fans shouldn’t expect to see The Thing appear in Marvel Rivals yet, but some interesting information surrounding the character has been revealed.

Based on how powerhouse characters like Hulk are used in Rivals, we imagine that The Thing will be used similarly. Grimm does look like a literal brick house, if the bricks were orange, and the comics have shown how much of a fighter he is. Needless to say, we think this character is going to fit in well.

Release Date

Much like Sue Storm, there is no definitive release date for The Thing in Marvel Rivals. Ben Grimm is currently one of the most under-developed characters in the game, at least according to RivalsLeaks. This means NetEase is working on the character’s move-set and making sure his playstyle fits in the game.

While he is under-developed, there’s always a chance that he makes it to the game’s first Season in January. After all, we’re only halfway through December and more progress could be made by that time. Until more information is revealed, we think it’s safe to say that Ben and Sue will be late additions to Season 1 or early heroes for Season 2.

Gameplay

It’s not known how The Thing will play in Marvel Rivals, but fans can assume that he will pack a punch. Expect this character to be a powerful tank who might be more mobile than Hulk. Since he’s a powerhouse, we also think The Thing will be able to absorb plenty of damage before he goes down.

RivalsLeaks has been able to uncover some of the character's attacks in Rivals. He has abilities that will prevent him from getting knockedback by certain attacks. Ben also has lightning quick punches that can do plenty of damage. Lastly, the character's Ultimate lets him launch all his enemies in the air.
