Two Challenger League stars -- Connor "Azian" Felux and "doq" -- have joined Parabellum to replace the outgoing pair of Keagen "P3NGU1N" Smith and Shaun "Gunnar" Pottorff.
After winning back-to-back Challenger League stages and securing promotion to the NAL for the 2022 season, Parabellum Esports finished Stages 1 and 2 in seventh and sixth place. Stage 2, in particular, caught the attention of many as they were a single win away from qualifying to the Berlin Major on the final play day.
This has put PBLM in eighth place across the overall NAL season, but only two points shy of SSG in fifth. Now their star rookie pickup, Gunnar, has been signed by another currently unnamed NAL roster and the team has dropped P3NGU1N.
In their stead, they've put their November Major hopes into two new rookies.
The first of these is Azian, a player who has had considerable success in various under-18 tournaments, but only turned 18 in May of this year. Since then, he finished as runners-up in the NA Challenger League on Luminosity Gaming, with the fourth-highest KPR in the league.
Doq is in a very similar position, having also recently graduated to tier two competitions. During Stage 2, he finished in sixth place in the Challenger League on the Nokturns lineup and had an identical SiegeGG Rating to Azian in the league at 1.17.
These two players have both been ones to watch for the last year. They both played alongside Gunnar, while doq also teamed with OxG's Nuers and TSM FTX trialist Snake.
Now, they'll be hoping to follow in Gunnar's footsteps and impress on Parabellum and possibly go a step further to give Parabellum their second international appearance in Rainbow Six.
