MIBR today announced their decision to bench Luca "LuKid" Sereno after parting ways with Enzo "Rappz" Aziz yesterday. Incoming are "Dodez" and "Nyjl", though both are currently only in a trial capacity for the team.
Both are set to make their MIBR debut in the Brazilian Six Invitational 2023 Open Qualifier today. Dodez joins from team Dromedalho, who finished second in the Série B 2022 Finals last month, while Nyjl joins from LaQuimica Esports, who were a distant seventh place to Dromedalho's third in the regular season of the Série B.
Like Rappz, LuKid had been with the team since Nov. 2018 and had continued on with them when MIBR had signed the entire roster in Mar. 2021.
Most notably, Rappz and LuKid finished third at the Six Invitational 2021 and fourth at the Six Invitational 2022 with MIBR. However, despite the strong results at SI, the team failed to qualify for any Major in both seasons.
LuKid had a tough 2022 season, starting it with a 0.88 SiegeGG Rating in Stage 1 despite largely playing Iana and Jaeger. That number improved marginally to 0.96 in Stage 2, but he was still only the fourth-best player on his team despite primary operator switches to Sledge and Wamai.
In Stage 3, however, LuKid's fortunes turned and he was the best player on his team with an impressive SiegeGG Rating of 1.13 -- largely on the same operators of Sledge and Wamai. This figure came after he managed a +21 K-D, which was sixth-best in the entirety of the BR6 that stage.
Despite the uptick in his form, though, MIBR have opted to move him to the bench and are trialing the little-known -- but likely still supremely potent -- pair of Dodez and Nyjl.
