Beastcoast have knocked out Team Liquid of the BLAST R6 Major Manchester following a 2-0 win after victories on Skyscraper and Bank.
The North American lineup had a great start to the series as they completed a 5-1 half while defending on Skyscraper. Later, Beastcoast closed out the first map of the series with two clutches by Ayden "dfuzr" Gabari and Shaun "Gunnar" Pottorff as the North America League 2024 Stage 1 champions won their map pick by a score of 7-3.
As expected by many fans, Team Liquid seemed to react on their map pick as the Brazilians kicked off Bank with two rock-solid round wins. Eventually, the Blue Cavalry held a three-round lead, which was shortened to a 4-2 score before swapping roles.
Unfortunately for the Brazilians, Beastcoast quickly got control of the map after the second half began and shortly placed themselves in front of the scoreboard. Finally, when everyone thought both teams would have to go to overtime to crown the map winner, Gaven "Gaveni" Black performed a 1v2 clutch to give his team an unexpected 2-0 win.
This will be the first time since the Six Charlotte Major that the grand final won't feature any Brazilian squad, with the record consisting of two Six Invitational and four Major grand finals:
- Six Berlin Major: Rogue 3-2 FaZe Clan
- Six Jönköping Major: Team BDS 3-2 Team Liquid
- Six Invitational 2023: G2 Esports 3-1 w7m esports
- BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen: w7m esports 3-0 Team Liquid
- BLAST R6 Major Atlanta: w7m esports 3-1 LOS
- Six Invitational 2024: w7m esports 3-2 FaZe Clan
Meanwhile, this result means that we will have a full North American grand final at a Six Major for the first time since the Six Charlotte Major, which featured Astralis and DarkZero Esports, if the purple organization defeat Team BDS in the second semi-final of the day.
