The Unreal Engine 5 migration has arrived for Valorant players, and to celebrate, Riot is giving away a new gunbuddy called Hot New Engine. The cosmetic was announced a few weeks ago, and players can now obtain it to use on their weapons.
For anyone looking to rock a new gunbuddy, we have prepared a small guide explaining how to get this reward, but you will have to act quickly.
How to get the Hot New Engine gunbuddy in Valorant
To obtain the Hot New Engine gunbuddy in Valorant, players will only need to open the game while patch 11.02 is active. The cosmetic is a gift Riot is giving to players to make up for the download size of this update.
With the new patch replacing the game's previous engine (UE4) with Unreal Engine 5, a larger-than-usual download was expected. Players not only need to have enough space for the patch, but also an additional 30 GB of free space temporarily, as the download intends to replace files before deleting the old ones.
Once you finish the download and launch the game, you will be welcomed with a new gunbuddy in your inventory. Once patch 11.03 comes around, the offer will expire and there won't be any way of getting this cosmetic.
We don't have a release date for this next update, but it is expected to arrive on August 12th, at the earliest. If you are reading this article after said date, it might be too late to obtain the gift.
