Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3 Reloaded: Release date, weapons, mapas, modes, and more

A second batch of additions is coming this season

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3 Reloaded

Season 3 Reloaded, the midpoint in the season, is right around the corner and this means a second set of additions is set to go live soon for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

Although these additions are significantly smaller than the ones we saw at the beginning, they will give users some fresh content to grind before the start of Season 4. Here is everything we know about the mid-season content.

Release date

Season 3 Reloaded for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone is set to begin on Wednesday, May 1 at 9:00 am PT (5:00 pm BST). A new update will come out that day to all platforms to add the remaining content.

After this, the season will remain available for four more weeks, ending on Wednesday, May 29 at the same time.

New weapon

Only one new weapon is set to be released with this mid-season patch and it is the BAL-27. This will be a new Assault Rifle inspired directly by the same weapon that first appeared in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The weapon will have 19 levels and its unlock method will be revealed once it's available in the game.

New maps

The multiplayer portion of Modern Warfare 3 is getting two new maps and here is a list of them with their description:

  • Grime (6v6): This is a small to medium-sized map that is based on the London Canal, far away from the central part of the city.
  • Checkpoint (6v6): This is a small map that takes place in one particular zone of the Rebirth Island map from Warzone.

New modes

First off, here are all the new modes coming to the multiplayer side:

  • Minefield: This is a variation of any traditional mode (Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, etc) where a proximity mine is dropped whenever an enemy gets killed. That mine will be lethal to the enemy team.
  • Escort: In this mode, one team will have to push a MAW through a predetermined path in the map until it gets to the end, while the other team has to stop that.

On the other hand, here are the new Warzone-specific game modes coming with this patch:

  • Rebirth Resurgence Loaded (44 players): Players spawn in with their preferred loadout in this mode, meaning that they won't have to get it during the match. Whenever a player respawns, they have the choice to change to another of their pre-build loadouts.
  • Rebirth Lockdown (28 players): Just like Hardpoint, squads are tasked to capture and control certain points on the map. Respawns are active, and toward the end of a match, so are High-Value Zones that offer the chance for greater point acquisition.

On top of these modes, a new public event called Infil Strikes will be introduced on Rebirth Island. This activates at random and results in the destruction of one of the following points of interest: Lighthouse, Prison, and Water Tower.

Whenever a POI gets destroyed, the area changes dramatically to provide players with a new layout to explore during their match.

Zombies

Although the mode won't be getting any major additions moving forward, Zombies is also getting some love this time.

A new quest will be available where players have to rescue Dr. Ava Jansen after being lured into a new region of the Dark Aether.

Operation Deadbolt continues and a third Aether Rift is coming with this patch. In addition to that, three new schematics will be added, and here is the description of each one of them:

  • Dead Wire Detonators: Are you still shocked at the impressive electrical damage the Dead Wire Ammo Mod inflicts? Then you might want to employ the Dead Wire Detonator, and attach it to all your explosive weaponry, including Lethals and Launchers!
  • Golden Mask Filter: A prized schematic with a shiny hue and an impressive, long-lasting effect — gain a self-regenerating gas mask for the rest of the match. This comes in extremely handy for surviving zombie strongholds and any surprises in the rifts.
  • Sergeant’s Beret: Your outcomes no longer need to be terminal when dealing with Zakhaev’s hired guns; simply don the Sergeant’s Beret to disguise yourself among the Mercs, and summon a trusty Merc Bodyguard who shadows you to the end.

Other additions

Just to not leave anything big out of the article, here are some other additions coming with Season 3 Reloaded:

  • A new Field Upgrade called Utility Box will be available in Warzone and this is just like the armory box, except it provides both armor plates and ammunition.
  • A new tactical called EMD Mine is also being introduced. It sticks to any surface and when an enemy gets in its radius, it shoots tracker devices that attach to them and show their location until the enemy removes them.

While their main titles in the franchise are in the midpoint of a season, Season 4 for COD Mobile started a few days ago and it introduced an extravagant new mythic weapon with an insane inspection animation.
