A Warzone leak claims the Urzikstan map is being destroyed as part of the mid-season update.
Details on what Season 4 Reloaded has in store haven't appeared yet but it appears Raven Software has some widespread changes up its sleeves as the focus starts switching to the launch of Black Ops 6 and its integration into the battle royale.
Before that, the focus is firmly on the future of the Urzikstan map and how the rumored map destruction could impact the remaining seasons of the current cycle.
According to Call of Duty dataminer Crashfty, the majority of the Urzikstan map will be destroyed as part of the mid-season update leaving many wondering how the map will look once Season 4 Reloaded goes live on June 26th.
The potential destruction of Urzikstan follows on from the latest chapter of the Warzone story where the elite operatives found a chemical weapon. There's every chance the chemical weapon is detonated resulting in significant changes to the main battle royale map.
In addition to the storyline, the Season 4 roadmap also mentions POI changes on their way to Urzikstan adding further validity to the leak.
But, as with all leaks, it's best to take them with a grain of salt until Raven Software reveals more information on its plans with Urzikstan after focusing on Resurgence in recent updates.
The destruction of certain points of interest in Warzone is nothing new. Al Mazrah saw areas of the map adjusted alongside Caldera and Verdansk before the latter was destroyed completely at the end of the Black Ops Cold War cycle. For Black Ops 6, rumors suggest Verdansk is returning much to the excitement of fans wanting the iconic battleground back in Warzone.
For now, we'll have to wait for the full extent of Urzikstan's destruction. For more Call of Duty, check out the best assault rifle to use along with how to unlock the Reclaimer 18 shotgun.
